The 0W-20 viscosity was developed for achieving maximum fuel efficiency and minimizing the environmental impact, and has become a new standard for a large number of modern Japanese cars, including many prestige-class and hybrid models. Along with 5W-20, 0W-20 is now the viscosity most recommended by all Japanese car builders.
